Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution
Produced by South Bend Civic Theatre
Step into the courtroom and decide the fate of Leonard Vole in Agatha Christie’s thrilling whodunit, Witness for the Prosecution.
For its 70th anniversary, the South Bend Civic Theatre, the oldest continuously operating community theatre in the region, stages an immersive, site-specific production in the neighboring South Bend Scottish Rite building. This historic venue features a striking two-story horseshoe gallery reminiscent of a mid-century British courtroom. As shocking betrayals and twisting testimonies rock the courtroom, audiences will be on the edge of their seats trying to uncover the truth.
Local middle and high school students also have the opportunity to step beyond the traditional stage and become part of the jury during dedicated student matinees.

Founded in 1957, South Bend Civic Theatre aims to enrich and create community through live theatre. Their downtown home features two distinct performance spaces: the Wilson Auditorium, a traditional mainstage theater which seats 209 people, and the Warner Studio Theatre, a black-box venue which seats between 80 and 90. In addition to producing more than a dozen plays and musicals each year, the organization has a robust education program that includes classes for children and adults, summer camps, as well as many opportunities for volunteers.
