Join Hesburgh Libraries Rare Books and Special Collections at Notre Dame (RBSC) in welcoming visiting artist Paloma Núñez-Regueiro for a public printmaking workshop in connection with RBSC’s spring 2027 exhibition Folded Voices / Voces plegadas. Workshop attendees will create a three-dimensional "book object," utilizing the accordion format as a continuous canvas rather than isolated pages.

Núñez-Regueiro is a Mexican printmaker born in Lima, Peru, and currently living and practicing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her Archivo Político Vivo (2025) reframes the archives of U.S. interventionism in Latin America through poetry, pictographic typography, and layered commentary, creating dialogue between official documentation and lived experience. Also featured in the exhibition is her accordion-book series Essays on Invisibility (2022), which explores the struggles of minoritized communities to overcome systemic marginalization and achieve social visibility. Additionally, her art film Dynamic List of Indelible Marks (2026), which she co-created with Toko Shiiki, makes an appeal for protecting democracy and human rights today by remembering the murdered and disappeared of Cold War Latin America.

Folded Voices / Voces plegadas situates Latin American and diasporic accordion-form books within a long lineage of material memory keeping. By centering the works of contemporary artist-activists, integrating experiential events into the gallery, and extending that outreach to campus and community spaces, Folded Voices / Voces plegadas invites audiences to become co-creators through dialogue and collaborative art making.
