This event is free and open to all.
Join Notre Dame’s Letras Latinas in welcoming Emma Trelles, former Poet Laureate of Santa Barbara, California, and Alexandra Lytton Regalado, former winner of the National Poetry Series, for a public talk and live poetry reading engaging works of art from the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art. Special guest Richard Blanco, U.S. inaugural poet for President Barack Obama, will provide the introduction.
Poems by Trelles and Regalado will be developed as part of a joint poets-in-residence sponsored by Letras Latinas and the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art in September of 2026. During the residency, the poets will conduct research in the Museum’s galleries in order to create new ekphrastic poetry, visit a Notre Dame literature class, and co-teach a public poetry workshop at the Museum.
