The South Bend Museum of Art launches Symbiotic Studio, a series of collaborative workshops designed to cultivate a regional pipeline of high school artists prepared for advanced studio practice, regional residencies, and university arts programs. Co-led by museum educators and regional university faculty, these free workshops offer students portfolio reviews, critiques, and mentorship from college partners. The journey culminates in May 2027 with a public capstone event that will illuminate – for teachers, students, and their families – how artistic pathways are built.

Symbiotic Studio builds on the success of the Museum’s high school and college residency program by formalizing mentorship opportunities and extending cross-institutional professional development to a broader group of emerging artists.

This workshop series is free, but attendees must apply through a competitive process. More details will be available soon.
